Xbox won't let me connect wirelessly

Hi i'm having a problem and i have looked everywhere and can't find any solution. When i get to the available Networks screen and try to choose wireless an error popup comes up and says that i have to remove the ethernet cable to use a wireless connection. Only problem is i don't have an ethernet cable plugged in. this is extremely frustrating. someone please help me.

Do you have the external wireless network adapter or the built in wireless (Xbox 360 Slim)?

Try this and see if you might be helped. Otherwise, it seems that your Xbox Ethernet port has become faulty and you need to request a repair.
