I use the console-computer method to connect to xbox live. I have a toshiba satellite L305d with a realtek network adapter, connected to the internet through a verizon dongle and the xbox is connected using a cat5e ethernet cable. Usually I can connect to xbox live, but now it has issues more often. It always says it doesn't receive and ip from my modem, and when I try to set a staic ip, it says it cannot connect using the static ip. I've tried all of the troubleshooting suggestions on the site, restoring factory defaults, setting the mac address, power cycling, changing the network settings on my laptop, and several different static ip's starting with the 192.168.0.2 xbox suggests, and still get the same results. Anyone have any idea what might be wrong?
