Xbox will not display or play audio through VGA cables. Works fine with normal component.

Hello!

I have been playing Xbox through VGA cables for the past year or so, and a few months ago I turn on my Xbox and download the update and my console restarts but doesn't display video or play audio. The Xbox will turn on and register any controllers connected, but will not display video or play audio. I figured it was the cables and bought new ones, but this did not solve my issue. I tried my old component cables on my TV, and it works just fine!

Thanks in advance for any help!

Try to reset the display settings with the VGa cables plugged in.

Turn the Xbox on with the controller and while pressing the  Guide Button, press and hold the Right Trigger and Y at the same time, until the XBox logo appears.

Thanks for the response, but I have already tried this solution. The Xbox just turns on normally with the exception that it takes a little longer for the controller to connect, still get no sound or display after holding it for a good five minutes.
