Xbox will not connect to network .. please please help

I upgraded our internet because we wanted faster speed. Comcast gave us a router/modem combo. Xbox does not like this new router. It has connected maybe 3 times but always disconnects after about 5 min. That was on the first day. Now Xbox will not connect to the my network. Yes, I am using the right password. I have manually set up the IP settings, didnt work. I have had it on automatic but it will not connect. It will not gather the IP settings automatically. Everything that is troubleshooting and on these forums I have tried. Please please please help. My children and going insane without Live.

Make sure upnp is enabled. Possible kicking you off once other devices connect. Also can you tell us your encryption keys settings? If it's a wpa2/wpa could be an issue. Set it to one not combo.

Hi,

It is a known issue with that router, I believe some people have requested a different model of modem/router from Comcast to resolve this

I've also seen some people suggest that setting up a manual connection and choosing WPA security instead of WPA2 security works

I think it was the router because I did what you said others did. I went and got a different router. Thank you =)
