XBOX Update

This is the 3rd time i have updated my Xbox since i have had it over the 6 years....AND this is the 3rd time AFTER the update that it screws up my connectivity to XBOX Live. I dont understand WHY this happens then i go through the troubleshooting process ALL over again. Restarting the router/modem....calling XBOX and REOPENING my ports....and I know i am not the only one that has this problem either...I have been a loyal customer since the Original XBOX came out. I enjoy playing online....i enjoy the games it offers....i just HATE the Tech support that comes with it honestly. Please....when you want to update something thats NOT broken....just dont do it. It screws with your customers. I played ALL day yesterday on my day off....Today when i come home from work and want to relax...update the dash and ect ect....it then screws with my Live....Its not a stressful situation....its just a MAJOR inconvienience....Please provide some feedback and or solution help....thanks

when updateding dosed it frezze when its applying and almost done? if so dose it give a code and what is it? if it dose frezze while updateing please please give it time to time out sometime up to 1.5 hours because sometimes if you turn it off while its hung like that it seems to give a small portion of people a E65 or E64 code and will most def need a repair
