Xbox turning off while updating

ok it some times re starts the xbox by turning it's self off. but if it is not turning back on then do this: first remove the hard drive

if will turn on bu no picture then do this: Reset XBOX 360 Video Output

   Remove any discs from the disc tray.

   Turn off the console.

   Turn on the console.

       If you are using a wireless controller turn on the console by using the Xbox Guide button on the controller (Make sure you use the player1 controller)

   Once the controller has turned on press and hold the Y button whilst pulling the right trigger.

   The Console will automatically reboot and video settings will be returned to defaults.

if that works then do this (after putting the hard drive back in:

   With the console off, press and hold the sync up button.

   While holding the sync button press the power button to turn on the console

   Continue to hold the sync button until the Console has booted up completely.

   During the boot process the console should clear any failed updates, allowing you to use it normally.

(it normally works) and then clear cache 3X times

You should have no issues concerning this. My console does the same thing and I have not had any kind of issue yet. I believe if you turned it off during an update it could corrupt the information that was being downloaded. That is why that prompt says that.

Mine turned off near the end of the download, just turned it back on and downloaded again.

No problems except I cant look at my friends list!!!
