Xbox Series X , converting hdmi 2.1 to Display port 1.4

HI.

Does the Xbox series X work on monitors that only support high refresh rates on Display port by converting HDMI 2.1 to DP 1.4 or is there an alternative solution as the console does not have a display port out put ?

I would like to play multiplayer games on my monitor and normal games on my 4K TV.

As far as I'm aware there are no HDMI 2.1 to DP 1.4 converters, HDMI 2.0 to DP 1.4 doesn't exist either. Also, you can't just do this kind of thing with any cable. The adaptor has to be 'Active' (i.e. powered). Plus, it has to be the right direction. The cable must be HDMI to Display Port. A DP to HDMI won't work. They are not bi-directional. I'm no expert on these things, but I understand the basics.

You'll find a lot if not most monitors are locked to 1080p when it comes 120Hz support. And since they are are HDMI 1.4, you probably won't be getting high refresh rates.

Are you sure they wont work or you haven't seen the adaptor as google has 100s of option for hdmi 2.1 to display port just curious if i need to replace monitor ot get this adaptor

Club 3d hdmi to display port 1.4 k60hz works for me I was afraid it won't work but it works perfectly fine 1440 on 120 ❤️

Hello buddy, did you use the adapte for an xbox series x? Can you Please share the model of your adapter? I own a benq zowie but has nk hdmi 1.4 o higher, I wanna play 120 fps!

May be he meant this site, but I couldn't find HDMI to DisplayPort but they have DisplayPort to HMDI which will not work on Xbox Series X.

I'm in look for one too to test it out for Xbox Series X to connect to a Dell S3220DGF which has older revision than A03 which lacks support of firmware for 120hz unless exchange to a newer revision A03 but refurbished exchange model.

Thank you all for this information. I just canceled my pre order, because the lack of monitor/display 1.4 support.

Xbox Series X not supporting display 1.4 was the worst thing they could do. High fps Xbox is useless now. Advertising 1440p 120hz without any support. Garbage machine. Glad I didn't buy one.

In my case, I would change monitor.

Dell monitor support 120hz output, I'm going to ask for exchange to one which has A03 revision.

Since it will output 120hz at 1440p.

I bought the monitor 2 months too soon, firmware was updated after June 2020 .

Can't believe they don't have firmware update download but to do an exchange for them to do that and a refurbished one to get back instead a new!

You mean you made a console for resolution purposes and refreshrates. You didn't make it support gaming monitors for this? What a joke.
