Xbox Semi-Bricked after turning off during update

Me and my cousin decided to play Halo 4 but we were having some controller sync issues so we turned it off because we didn't realise it was updating. Now when we turn it on there is no audio or video, and the controllers refuse to connect. The light is still green and we've checked and rechecked all the cords but it stays the same. Any suggestions? We're just leaving it off for the time being.

is there any other symptoms? it doesn't sound like a os update issue if booting from usb and installing doesn't work. have you checked your video cords (hdmi/aux) and tried ones that you know work on another console currently? are there any rings on the console blinking or colored at all?

Could you try holding the sync button in on the console, power the console on keeping the sync button pressed and see if that helps any.

Bananas !!

The light is green, no rings or flashing. We don't have any other cords to test with but I should clarify; it was a game update for halo 4.

it sounds like the cords. a game update shouldn't cause any problems with the xbox os. see if you can get ahold of someone a/v cords to try out

As I stated earlier, another problem is the controllers not connecting. We can hold the sync button on both the console and the controller and it will seem to sync but then the console goes blank and the controller just flashes. That info makes it less likely to have anything to do with the a/v cords. There is also the fact that it was working flawlessly about 4 hours before hand and during that 4 hours nobody was in the house.

So you tried just holding the sync button in on just the console and powering it up and nothing changed ? If you have the slim console make sure you hear the sync button click when you press it.Does the console have a hard drive?

-

Try removing the hard drive, does the console get any further than with the hard drive fitted?

I understand your controller won't connect. when I have my a/v cables unplugged it does not allow controllers to connect the xbox icon on the controller will just spin. as for how it broke if that is the case I wouldn't have any idea. testing a new a/v cable is simply a idea that could work and it doesn't hurt to try and rule things out.

Yes, I tried holding the sync button while booting. Removing the hard drive had no effect.
