Xbox scratching discs?

Hi. I have an older Xbox 360 manufactured in 2006 and have had no disc drive problems, no red ring of death, and no overheating problems. Until now, I have realized that my NFS Hot Pursuit disc, my Halo Reach disc, and all 3 of my LA Noire discs have the ring shaped scratch. My console is always laid down flat and I have never bumped into it while it was on.

Is there a solution to fix this?

Check to make sure there is nothing on the game itself when you put it on the disc tray and that there is nothing on the disc tray as well. Also check to see if there is any parts on the tray that looks worn down. The way the drive works is that there is a magnet inside and when you put a game it it connects the magnets together thruogh the hole in the center of the game. If this gets thrown off balence then it will wobble and tip inside the disc drive hitting the tray causing the Rin on your games. Like i said make sure there is nothing on the game that could make it go off balence such as stickers. LEave the game label. That is not causing the problem.

Hopes this helps in some way

Yeah...the console itself is scratching the discs.  Usually, this is caused by someone moving the console or dropping it (like my mother did once!) while it is operating.  Regardless the only solution is to call support and get a $100 repair.  Do not take it to any "mom and pop"-type stores.  There is a statement in the warranty that , in essence, tells that you only send it in to MS for repairs.  Also, don't take it apart...if you do and replace the dvd drive yourself, Ms will detect that hardware change once you connect to Live again.  They will interpet it as an attempt at modding and than ban you console from ever connecting to Live again.
