To answer your question you dont have to call, you can cancel your renewal through the website.

Use Pre-Paid Codes. There is no reason for you to be upset with the service. You don't like renewal? Buy P.p.c. or if its in your region turn off Auto Renewal from xbox.com. Buy a yearly and leave it on. Why would you ever want it off in the first place?

If you change your address to an Illinois address you can disable auto renewal on the website. Other than that auto renewal can only be disabled by calling support.

Don't expect any help from MS in a timely fashion, they don't seem to care about any customer issues any more, all the hacking is a prime example

Xbox customer care really doesn't value their customers one bit. It took me about thirty minutes to disable my auto-renewal because the damn guy kept offering me deals in which i clearly didn't want because my xbox went rrod. Jesus christ what a great company. I suggest everyone to move to the ps3, at the least the online gaming is absolutely free.

Yes, the auto renewal can be an issue. If you signed up for a 12 month Gold Membership, the auto renewal was most likely automatically on. If you did have an unwanted renewal, contact 1 800 4 MY XBOX. Auto renewal can be turned off in the billing options at Xbox.com or through the phone.

So you don't like the online support because you want us to do something that we can not do? Cool. The only way to turn off auto renewal is by calling Microsoft support on the phone at 1 800 4 MY XBOX.

NO.....that is clearly not what i meant. What i was trying to say is that one should have the option of managing their account without having to call xbox customer support. There are various videos on youtube showing what customers have to go through to cancel their account. Why would a representative offer me deals when my xbox went rrod? I really don't understand the logic behind that.  Here's a perfect example of what I am talking about...
