Xbox One won't power on, but power supply is orange

Well, count me in as yet another affected customer.

Was working fine last night.  After playing around with it for a couple hours, including playing a blu-ray movie which I left inserted, I verbally told Xbox One to turn itself off.  Woke up this morning and pressed the Xbox button on the controller.  Nothing.  Tapped the power button on the console itself, nothing.  Unplugged everything, plugged it back in, nothing.  Have been doing this all morning, waiting sometimes an hour in between and leaving everything unplugged.  Tried with/without cable connection, tried with/without kinect, without anything at all, etc.  Tried switching wall outlets too.  Tried swapping HDMI cables.  No success. At one point during all this it yelped out some very very short 3-beep tune or something.  Haven't heard from it since.

The power supply is always on with an orange light whenever its plugged into the Xbox.  I also noticed what others have posted and that the light will go off if I unplug the cable connection in the HDMI IN port.  It will turn back on again if I plug it in again.

Seriously, tried everything, including yelling at it, kneeling and begging in front of Kinect while sacrificing a chicken, bribing it with money, stripping naked in front of it, and even abusing my PS4 in front of it.  It just won't turn on!!!

I haven't tried dropping out of a 10-story building yet, but I'm tempted.

Hey Smackholio.

I am sorry to hear about the console not turning on, was amused about the steps that you have taken and wanted to say great job reading the articles and trying all the troubleshooting steps that we have provided. My last thing I can suggest is contacting call support to help you. It maybe something to do with your battery or console. I hate to give you that as my suggestion but I didn't want to give you another link or steps that you have already tried.

Please reach back and let us know what they say when you contact support.

I have the same exact issue..power supply light is orange.  When I attempt to power on the console it makes a short sound like it is about to turn on, the white light goes on for one second and then shuts off.  I followed the recommended unplugging and ensuring the plug is directly into a wall outlet, etc.  So, far XBOX One is a big disappointment.  My son has had it since Nov 2013 when he asked for it as a birthday gift, but now has gone back to playing Wii Sports.  For the record, we never had a problem with that.  Wish I hadn't spent $500 on the XBOX.

Have you tried unplugging the power brick from the Xbox One and from the wall outlet for at least 10 minutes and then plugging everything back in?  In the past, this was a fix when my Xbox One would have power up issues. If it doesn't work then let me know. I enjoy trouble shooting these kind of issues. If my suggestion worked then please let me know. Happy Gaming.

Have you tried unplugging the power brick from both the wall and the Xbox One for at least ten minutes?  When I had power issues with my Xbox One, this resolved the issue.

Please let me know if this works for you since I enjoy trouble shooting issue such as this.

Happy Gaming.
