Xbox One - WiFi Issues.

Hi,

I am having issues connecting my Xbox One to my WiFi. I am able to access Xbox Live with a wired connection. I have tried all of the troubleshooting steps that it provides.

I have also tried changing my router settings to having an open WiFi connection. Everything else in my house is able to connect to the WiFi just fine and my old 360 also worked fine.

Is anyone else having any issues with this?

Thanks
Jamie

Jamie, I was able to connect better to my wifi by checking the box for "Optimized for Xbox."

Yeah I have also tried my friends network which does the same thing. This must be a Software or hardware issue... Anyone else had the same issue?

I have this same issue.  My Wifi works for everything fine without issue, laptop, tablet, phone.

The XBOX One connects and has strong signal and all shows great in the Network Test and Gaming Tests, but as an example I wanted to show someone the PX90 Exercise and it loads up and starts then about 2 minutes in, it just sits and spins wheels forever, can't have a workout with this happening.  I think this occurred after the last patch because I originally tested the PX90 item when I first fired it up and it ran fine for several minutes without freezing and spinning wheels.

I've yet to test any online gaming, but I'm sure it's affected as well.  I've been reading this is an issue with Comcast and Microsoft.

Of course this is my combination as well.  All my PC's are wired, my other mobile devices are all on my wireless network including my TV's and XBOX One.

Hey CLOWN 7,

Sorry that this program is not correctly for you. Have you tried:

  • Uninstalling the fitness app
  • Powercycle down( hold down the power button on the console for 5-10 seconds)
  • power the console back up
  • Reinstall the fitness app

Give this a go and respond back with what you find.

Hi all,

I too had some networking issues; which are thankfully resolved, where the One couldn't connect to my Billion 7800VDOX.

In short, I'm using both 2.4 & 5Ghz frequencies named as "wlan_24" & "wlan_5" respectively.  Both use WPA2, AES and have the SSID hidden. My first grievance was that at the initial setup, nowhere does it list the MAC address of the interfaces. This is also not listed on the packaging or the console unit; which makes it difficult for those using a MAC filter on their modem/routers (like me).

So, anyway; after disabling the MAC filter on my 5Ghz network and going through the manual setup with all the correct settings, I was unable to get connection.  After trying a number combinations,  I tried the 2.4Ghz network (again, after disabling the MAC filter and manual setup), which worked immediately.

Only after the first system update could I connect using 5Ghz network.  Needless to say,  I also checked the MAC, put this into my filter and re-enabled it.

I'm not sure if others are having similar troubles with 5Ghz frequencies,  but this may suggest some software/driver issues with the XBO 5Ghz networking adapter or ongoing development of thier networking packages.

I'm also having WiFi issues with my dual frequency router.  Every other device in the house works fine but my Xbox has trouble connecting.  If I reset the connection it works but that requires manually entering the WiFi password again.  I have tried restarting the Xbox or router, that sometimes works but is hit or miss.
