Xbox One Gold Membership Problems

At the beginning of last year, I purchased a 12-month Gold subscription for use on the Xbox 360. I had little to no problems during the transition to the Xbox One regarding this subscription. However, just recently said subscription unexpectedly ended. I am unable to join or create parties, play games online, or do anything that would require Gold membership, as would be expected from a "silver member". But here's the catch: when I attempt to purchase another 12-month Gold subscription, I am notified that I am still a Gold member.

How is this possible if everything else signals that my membership has ended? I also just recently logged into this website, viewed my profile, and even that says I'm a Gold member. When I accessed the Subscriptions page via the Xbox One Settings page, there was nothing there but an option to learn about Gold membership. I am dumbfounded and would very much like to reinstate my subscription, but I have been rendered unable to do so by what seems like a glitch. Any solution to this problem would be greatly appreciated.

G'day all! We're currently looking into this. Hang tight for now, and if you haven't already, make sure your Gold membership is still active (not suspended) in your billing at commerce.microsoft.com.

Stay frosty! We'll get this sorted out.
