Xbox One - FAQ

Hey everyone, as many of you know I've been encouraging you all to ask your Xbox One questions on this forum and I've been doing my best to get the answers you're looking for. I thought it might be a good idea to have this one spot you can come to where I'll collect all the answers. If you have questions you think I should include in this FAQ, post them below. As I get answers, I'll update this top post to include them so they're all easy to find. Feel free to talk about this stuff in other threads still of course. This thread is mainly just for collecting the answers and making them easy to find.

Q: Can I play an Xbox 360 (or use other HDMI devices) through the HDMI Input on the Xbox One?

Yes. If you have a device with HDMI output, you can plug it in to the Xbox One's HDMI Input and use it as you would expect.

Q: Is task switching as fast as it seems?

Yes it is very fast from what I have seen so far.

Q: Can content licensed to my account be used by a different account on my home console while I am using that content on another console?

Yes, not unlike how the current Xbox 360 content licensing works.

Q: How many HDMI devices can we connect at a time?

Xbox One has one HDMI input, so you can only have one thing plugged in to it at a time.

Q: Can I transfer a content license from one Xbox One to another?

Q: How will the Xbox One use my multimedia files and devices? (ie Network Attached Storage, Video files, etc)

Q: What live TV functionality will be available for Canadians?

Sorry just asked this in another section... Can I run the 360 using the hdmi thru port on the ONE. I need to have both (not working at the same time obviously) so that I can play with mates on the 360 and 360 only games but then switch on the ONE and have a blast.

To expand on Juggler's point, can any HDMI device be plugged in, including an A/V receiver. Also what functionality will be included if a TV provider is hooked up by HDMI here in Canada.

I am very confused by this HDMI matter.

Why wouldn't you just plug the other device into the tv?

So is the switching of tasks as fast as they are showing? Having to wait for a 360 app to load isn't the best.

Hey @Mister Switch, do you mind adding my question from the other thread?  I rephrased it to make it more simple.

Question:

Since we can access our digitaly purchased games on other consoles(with the gamertag that purchased it), can that game still be played on the original console it was purchased on with a different Gamertag at the same time?  And is this a Day 1 feature?

Thanks.
