Xbox One and turtle beach

I see that there isn't a turtle beach headset that comes out until feb.  Is there some sort of an adapter that I can use to use my turtle beach that I have now?

They are in the process of making an adapter for the older headsets. There has been no release date given for them, but they are in the works. I would be guessing about the same time the new headsets come out.

If your Turtle Beach headset makes use of the optical input on the back of the Xbox One then you should be able to hear your games just fine. This just means that you won't be able to communicate using your microphone as Microsoft hasn't released the adapter for their Xbox One controller just yet. I would think that this should be out by early 2014 and will make most last generation headsets fully compatible with the Xbox One.

This all in on machine doesn't even support Dolby 5.1 Surround sound via optical output anymore so you might as-well just get a 2.0 headset

okay I think that you may have been caught up in some confusion, the optical out does not support it from a signal being received through the HDMI input. It does support it for games and movies and apps being played on the console. so the only thing you wouldn't get DD5.1 on is if you pass your cable box through it via the HDMI input. I hope this provides some clarity for you.

"I like to play games and watch movies with an Astro surround-sound headset, which decodes Dolby 5.1 audio from an optical input cable. However, the Xbox One is currently only able to output stereo and DTS Digital through its optical output. My headphone receiver can't read DTS Digital, so I have to output in stereo, and my surround headphones turn into regular old headphones. I've been asking Microsoft for the last week if they intend to add Dolby output to the optical audio port in the near future (it's an option for HDMI output), but haven't gotten a solid answer on whether a fix is coming."

okay after further investigating I retract my comments on the DD5.1 through the optical output, It is not available on launch but will become available sometime after. It is a software issue and they are currently working on it and it will be available later down the road. Sorry for the bad info.
