Xbox live won't auto-sign in anymore

Greetings. So my xbox 360 will not auto log in to xbox live anymore when i turn it on. It DOES auto log into my profile, but not to xbox live. If I go to "connect to xbox live" it connects fine.

1. Guide>>settings>>profile>>profile auto sign-in=ON

2. Cleared hd cache, deleted profile, downloaded profile again.

3. Using an Elite 250gb model, with microsoft wireless adapter. Went into network settings restored factory defaults, unplugged adapter from xbox, reset modem and router, reconfigured network..no dice.

4. Did the following: Reinstalled system software using following method.
Turn off your console. Press and hold the sync button (the small one you use to connect your wireless controllers). While holding press the power button to turn your console on. Continue to hold the sync button until the dashboard is fully loaded.
Go to System Settings and choose storage.
On your controller, press the following button sequence:
Press the left bumper.
  Press the right bumper.
    Press the X button.
    Press the left bumper.
    Press the right bumper.
    Press the X button.

5. Interestingly---if no game disc is in the DVD drive when i turn on the unit, it will successfully auto log in my profile and log in to xbox live. If a game disc is in the drive (tried 3 different game discs, all in excellent condition) it will just log in the profile and NOT xbox live.

Any suggestions on this?

I am having this same issue and have been for a couple of weeks now. Seems like since that last dashboard update, this has been happening.

I am also experiencing this issue. My profile will always auto sign-in. But if there is a disc in the tray it will simply NOT auto sign in to Xbox LIVE. Take out tue disc and problem solved. Due to how many people are suddenly experiencing this issue, it almost for sure is an issue with the latest Dashboard update as already stated.

Let's hope MS actually reads this stuff and releases a fix.

GhostFaceSmokah, these forums work best when you create a new thread with a first post of your own, as the original poster's problem and solution, although similar, could be very different in detail. It's great that you're researching here, but the quickest path to a solution is your own thread.,
