Hello

Sorry for posting twice, but I have no idea how to edit or reply in this forum (embarrassing, I know)

so i have this problem: When i try to recover my account on my xbox this message comes up: "xbox live signup is currently unavailable. please try again later" 

The progress bar is almost finished when the error message pops up. It seems like a common problem when I read around on the internet, but have not found a solution that works for me yet

PS: I have not cheated or modded anything before and my new xbox is newly purchased

How long have you been encountering this error? Are you otherwise able to connect to LIVE (with a different account?)

for 3 days this error has been happening and I can connect to xbox live with an other account. The problem is that the profile is not getting fully recovered

I have exactly the same problem, currently unresolved with Xbox phone support, and on this forum, under the thread title "Can't recover account".

It's strange for what seems a common problem, I've yet to find an answer, and MS support doesn't seem to understand what the issue is, or how to solve it.

Can you try to completely delete the profile (profile only, not items!), clear the system cache, restart the console, and try to recover it?

Is yours the only profile having this issue on the console, or can other profiles not recover properly here? Can you recover your profile to another console? If you can, try moving it over to your console via USB storage.

I can't. I have tried to recover it on 3 different consoles and the progress bar stopped the same spot with the same error message every time. My old xbox got the red ring of death don't think that does anything to your profile but i don't know. There is something wrong with this profile (xpoohbear94x). I've been using it for 4 years and haven't had any major problems. I imagine you guys can't really check the profiles status. And there is no way to transfer games and achievements? A lot of money gets wasted in games and add-ons if I loose this account....

To answer your last question first, no, nothing can be transferred between accounts. That said, I would call up phone support (support.xbox.com/contact-us) to see if they can see anything wrong with your account from their end.

I had this issue and it was my usb drive! I unplugged it and recovered to hdd 1st time! Very stupid error message which is rarely caused by what it implies!
