xbox live login problems

I have a problem logging in with my account, it always says bad email or password.

The XBOX LIVE connection test runs fine (all successes with no NAT warnings) with a status of W:0000-000D X:0000-F001 Y:20A8-48e0 Z:0000-0000 ID:FFFF-FFFF

This happens when I goto recover gamertag or to join xbox live. Also does this when I goto make a new account.

Are you sure that you are entering the email and password correctly. I know I sometimes forget to put .com at the end of the email address or to capitalize a letter in my password sometimes. Are you able to log in to that same account on xbox.com or live.com?

Yes. It is the same email and password I login to xbox live's website, hotmail, mesh, etc with. I have given it a number of tries. It fails rather fast, it doesn't seem like it is even checking. Also with the status code it seems like something is amiss as I have looked it up and my status code from the network connection test is somewhere between:

Not Banned \ NTSC (4552) | Ethernet, update cancled

w: 0000-000B

X: 0000-F001

Y: 20A8-48E0

Z: 8015-1007

Not Banned \ NTSC | Ethernet

w: 0000-000B

X: 0000-F001

Y: 20A8-4840 ..also Y: 20A8-48E1

Z: 0000-0000

 

Please note this is a brand new referb unit I got from gamestop.

Try logging on with a different account or try to recover another gamertag and see if you're able to connect to XBox LIVE with the other gamertag.

The fact that you're using a used console is enough to warrant a call to phone support. Please give them a call at 800-4MY-XBOX, just to be sure there aren't any flags on the console.

Just for anyone else that sees this I changed my password on Live to one that was considered strong from one that was not and added the security question and it works just fine.
