XBox Live Gold - still showing as XBox Live Free

Hi there,

I have just paid for the Xbox Live Gold membership. However, when I sign into my Xbox, it still shows XBox Live free> Do you know how long it takes for this to update on the machine?

Sorry to barge in on your thread like this but I'd just like to state that this is happening as well for me. Although on the xbox website it says I am a gold member with 12M it still says free on my xbox.

Saturn, I will try recovering my account and see if it makes any change.

When you purchase Live time via the website it could take up to 24 hours to update on the console. There are currently two ways to speed that process up:

 

-Recover your account on the console again.

or

-Test your network connection.

Yeah Saturn just recovered my account now and it's now showing me as Xbox Live Gold :)

I phoned Xbox Europe about this and they said it was a server syncronisation problem....We renewed our live and it showed gold on the xbox.com website but free on the dashboard. I refused to recover my profile as the last time this was done (selected delete profile only) it wiped out half my game saves. We tested the network connection which successfully synced the account status.  However, there are similar issues happening with the windows live ID attached to the account also.....my email has NOT been hacked but whenever i login....loads of messages that are unread are showing up as read and opened.  Again, microsoft say its a sync problem on their servers.

You would think that seen as MS admitted it was a problem at their end, we would have received some sort of compensation or at least an eplanantion of what they will do to rectify it. Asked for there procedures on complaining and not given them and Guess what....they're doing nothing.  So Xbox, we pay our subscription, you break your terms & conditions and there's nothing we can do!!!!!!! I'd rather run the risk of going to PSN and being hacked!!!!!

You don't need to delete your profile to recover. You can simply recover the profile and it will keep everything intact without the risk of accidentally pressing "Delete Profile Items."

My memberships still showing as XBox Live Free and I already entered the new gold membership code so what's the solution??
