Xbox Live Gold on Xbox 360 Flash Drive

So I got the 16GB Xbox 360 Licensed SanDisk flash drive. It works fine but I heard that it comes with 1 Month of Xbox Live Gold. When I tried to play something that required Gold, it said I didn't have it. I also checked my Profile and it said that I had a Free Membership. Is there Gold/how do I get the Gold? My console is 4GB.

I've never heard of memory sticks coming with gold memberships.  Consoles, however, come with 3 separate 1 month gold trial memberships.

These can be accessed by creating a brand new account on the console and taking advantage of the offer when it pops up.

It says on here www.xbox.com/.../storage that it comes with 1 Month of Gold. This is for the 8GB though not the 16GB so I'm not sure if this also goes for the 16GB.

If there isn't any Gold for the 16GB then it's fine. I'll just buy one.

It does say that the pre-configured 8 gb storage device comes with it.  Perhaps you're right that it is only included with that size.
