I'm confused I paid for 12 months xbox live for my son, Microsoft gave me two accounts one for me and one for him, I guess it is so I can monitor what he is doing on xbox live. When he try's to play gta online on gta 5, his xbox says 'you do not not have
the correct permissions to access xbox live functionally' and when he try's to join an xbox live party, the xbox takes him to a box for buying gold membership. Please help ASAP.

first do not bump threads from january and yes, you need a gold subscription to play online either via pre pay cards in stores, or bought via the console's dashboard with a credit card or other form of payment (except MS currency or points converted to currency
those are NOT for LIVE).
