Xbox Live disconnects when I start a game

After the newest Xbox Live update I have been experiencing problems with disconnections. 1) Xbox Live disconnects when I start a game like MW2 or Halo Reach.. I believe it is an update but it does not show it on the screen. I am using wireless and when I use a cord to connect to Xbox Live it will let me update but when I go to my memory it is not there. This makes me have to update it every time I play. Another problem is I am getting error messages when I go to my profile and account management. I also get disconnected when I go to my  avatar editor and to recover my gamertag. Everything on my Xbox is running slow and wont run and them it says that the features that I am trying to use is temporarily unavailable. I have had perfect connection ever since I have had my Xbox. Can someone help?

This sounds like it may be a memory issue.  Please try clearing your cache. You can do so by accessing 'System Settings' in the dashboard, and then selecting 'Memory.' With your HDD highlighted, press (Y) and then select 'Clear Cache.'

If that doesn't do the trick, we can take a look at your network connection. In that case, pleae take a look at this post, and then answer those questions in this thread.

My brother is having a similar problem.  We're connected to LIVE just fine, but when he tries to play MW3 or Dead Island and goes to the multiplayer section, it says that he needs to be connected to LIVE, which he is.  He inputs his code and then it says he loses the connection and kicks him off.  When he returns to the Dashboard, he's connected again.

I put in Halo 3 and the connection and multiplayer work fine, no problems.  I then switched to Call of Cuty 4 (I think) and same problems.  Call of Duty and Dead Island aren't from the same companies, but then neither is Halo 3.  His friends can play and yet he can't.

Hey guys, can you please take a look at my earlier post? If you haven't done so already, please create your own thread in which you answer the bold questions from the second page I linked to. Also, please try re-downloading your profile on the console to see if that makes any change to the issue at hand.
