XBOX Live Disconnecting

Hello,

I have been having this issue for some time now and haven't found anything in the forums that would help.  Roughly after about 5 minutes after connecting to XBOX Live it will kick me out, then I go into the settings and run the Network/XBOX Live Connectivity tests and it says everything is fine, then I reconnect and 5 minutes later it kicks me out again and will not let me in until I do the test again.  I run the test again and it lets me back in only to kick me out again minutes later.  I was hoping the last software update would fix the issue but it did not.

Have you tried redownloading your gamertag? Often times a corrupt GT can cause frequent disconnects.

Also keep in mind that your Sagemcom 4300 is a single port DSL Gateway complete with a routing table and may need to be bridged to the Belkin router to avoid any potential invisible NAT scenario.

OK, I tried downloading re-downloading my gamertag and that did not work so I tried to bridge my modem and that cut me off from the internet completely.  So, I contacted Windstream and they said that there is a new modem and they are going to send it to me (takes 2 business days).  So we will see what happens then.

A little clarification about the new modem.  After I got reconnected to the Internet, I asked Windstream if they had any instructions on setting up the modem to work with my XBOX and they said not for the 4300, only the newer one (I can't remember the number).  That is why I am trying the new one.

Hi,

Even though you do not have any NAT errors you are most likely suffering a NAT problem if you have never bridged your Sagemcom

To resolve this issue have a look here www.unofficialguidetolive.co.uk/.../59-my-nat-is-strict-or-moderate because currently you are "double NAT'ing"

OK, received the new modem yesterday (Sagemcom 1704) and installed it.  Between gaming and downloading some demos, it remained connected to XBOX Live for 5 - 6 hours before I shut it down.  Hopefully the issue has been resolved.
