Xbox live connection failure

hey everyone. It's been about a week i read on forums, try suggestions on forums and nothing worked this far so here's my problem. Just moved in with a new computer and a new rooter, all of my accessories manage to connect to internet exept my xbox. when i go in the network settings, the signal that my xbox receives is perfectly good and at his strongest, but it can't connect to my rooter. The password is fine, i know because my PS3, wich right next to my xbox, can connect no problem. Learned it might be my rooter or pc blocking the access of my xbox. On some rare occasions, i manage to connect to xbox live for short period of like 10-20 secs then it disconnect me. what can i do? Badly need help. thanks
