Xbox Live Cloud Storage

Hey everyone.  Sorry if this is in the wrong spot but I'm trying to turn on Cloud Storage and keep getting a message saying "Sorry, cloud storage isn't available to everyone yet.  For more info, go to xbox.com/cloudstorage." I went to that link but can't find a reason why it's not available to me.  I'm in Canada if that could be a reason!!  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You are showing as a silver member,you need gold to use the cloud.

I just noticed that my name is Silver, does that mean I'm only a silver member?? In my account settings it shows that I'm a Gold Member until Feb 1, 2015

I just used a 12M Xbox live gold card that my wife bought me at Staples

Are you able to play online in multiplayer games?

Yes I am.  It seems to have worked itself out.  I am able to turn on cloud storage.  My guess is it takes awhile after you redeem an Xbox live card before it shows up in your account.  Thanks for taking the time to try to help me out.  I appreciate it
