Xbox disconnects my Internet

I'll be on my laptop for hours on end with no problems, As soon as I get into games on the xbox it disconnects the entire internet, I pay for Xbox live services, Internet services and I'm currently getting neither so can anyone please help me?

I'm running a wired connection, obtaining automatic IPs and DNS (Tried manual ones didn't work) It's just getting frustrating.

Have you contacted your ISP about these issues to see if xbox games seem to affect you connection in anyway, also, does this happen if you connect wirelessly to you router if you can connect via wireless.

what's the make and model of your modem and/or router? you may need to enable upnp on your router to ensure that everything is routing properly in your network

The Modem is a Netgear Dm111P and the Router is a Netgear WGR614 v9, I have updated the firmware and that did nothing. It's unreal how irritating it has become.
