What type of internet do you have? Cable
Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)? Comcast
When you run "Test Xbox LIVE connection" what is the exact message shown on screen?

Test Failed:

There's a problem with your connection. Select More Info for a description of the problem and how you can fix it.

 

**NOTE**

The "More Information" did not help resolve the issue.

But my friends online are all being happy playing their games.

One of these friends is only 30 minutes away from me also using Comcast.

Same issue here but I'm using TWC so it's not a Comcast issue.

iv tried every single suggestion to connect to xbox live but nothing, any good suggestions. iv not been able to connect for 2 hours. my internet is working  just cant conect to live

It works now....

I did nothing and it just works now.

So i guess the issue was on LIVE's end and we couldn't do anything ourselves.

Yeah I'm with AT&T so it's not a problem with the provider. XBL is simply having issues.

I just wish they could find some way to communicate this to the console, so we don't get "Your modern or router is probably blocking access to XBL" garbage. I hate to think how many poor users are driving themselves mad resetting things and waiting on hold to their ISPs.
