Xbox Controller - slight shake causes disconnect

I just got a new xbox, and along with some other controller issues that I've had, for some reason, the slightest shake seems to make the controller turn off. I assume this is something to do with the AA batteries making contact with the metal leads inside the battery pack.

Does anyone have any tips for keeping the batteries from losing contact? Should I stuff some metal down in there or something? lol

NO! That might cause a short curcit somewhere. Have you tried using a differant battery pack housing all together?

I had a similar problem where my controller would  turn off when I would shake it, it also turned off at random. In the end I found out that my batteries were empty even though it showed them as full.

I just folded up a couple of slips of paper and put them in along side the batteries so there was no give and that solved the problem for me. I can shake the thing for days and it no longer disconnects.
