Xbox AV Cable

Hello,

I recently decided to purchase an Xbox 360 and was planning on using my Logitech F540, which I currently use for my PS3.  My problem is this, I play on my PC's HDMI monitor, so my current configuration for my PS3 is to connect my HDMI cable from the console to my monitor for video, and then use the AV cables to connect to the control panel of my F540 headset for sound (red and white cables).  This requires me to have both my HDMI and AV cables plugged into the back of the PS3.

I planned on doing the same thing for my new Xbox, however, much to my chagrin, I find that the AV cable has a small tab over it preventing both sources from being plugged in, which is pretty dumb in my opinion.  I was wondering if purchasing a third party AV cable, one that doesn't have a tab over it, would work.  This is what I am currently looking at:

You can purchase a Audio adapter so then you can have a hdmi lead connected to your xbox and then the audio adapter  connected to the slot in which the AV cable would go, microsoft sell an official set with a hdmi lead and the audio adapter together as seen here: http://goo.gl/2A1GO

This is the same set up I use so I can use my turtle beach headset
