XBOX 360s doesnt load dashboard and freezes

Hi,

As a modest xbox user (360s, 4gb, w Kinect) I recently have a problem: when I turn on the machine, the logo displays, but thats about it. The machine hangs for 20 minutes, and then appears to move to the dashboard screen, but actually freezes.

The machine is 2 months old, no mods or whatever.

Anyone knows what to do and how to solve this issue? Did others encounter it?

Thank!

Hi! Do you have an internal hard drive installed in our console? Or anything plugged into the USB ports, besides the Kinect?

Sorry this didn't help.

If you cant even get to the dash I think there is very little you can do OP.

If no one has any alternate suggestions I would recommend phoning support for your region. As the console is only 2 months old it is still covered by the warranty so a service/repair would be free of charge.

But fingers crossed someone will have some other suggestions.

Thanks all for the suggestions!

Nope didnt have anything plugged in the USB ports nor installed external HDD. In the mean time I found out that the dashboard does load, but only after 40 minutes or so.

However, it doesnt find my data, save games, profile etc. Therefore, I suspect that my HDD crashed. Anyone knows where this 4gb HDD is located (as the HDD extension slot is obviously empty'), because then I will check whether it is connected properly.

In the mean time I already requested a repair.... Lets keep fingers crossed...

The 4GB memory is internal flash memory, located on the mainboard, and not serviceable by the end user. It does sound like you'll need a repair unfortunately.
