Xbox 360 slim takes forever to load dashboard.

Well I'm on my 3rd xbox and after the Nov. update my console takes up to 30 minutes to load to the dash board and another 10 to load a game. Once I'm finally playing a game it lags like crazy, offline with no HDD installed. It also will no longer connect to Xbox Live but connects to the internet just fine. I've tried clearing the cache and formatting the xbox, still the same problem. Today I reinstalled the update and it only make things worse. So I'm not very happy with this, 2 consoles later and I still have problems. If this problem can not be resolved WITHOUT sending my xbox in for repair, I would like a FULL refund for the console and my Xbox live that I can't use because of this.

Being banned wouldn't cause any of those problems, did you buy this xbox directly from a retailer or did you get it back from Xbox on a repair order? If it is from a store you can probably return it to them for your refund, if it was a repair from Xbox you'll have to call support directly and see about some form of compensation if you're unwilling to send it in for maintenance and repair.

I have several slim xbox's and none of them have this error.. I would blame in on any peripheral plugged into the usb drives that cause conflict in boot order. Try removing those and see if the problem  is then fixed.

Are you connected to the internet when booting up? Have you seen if the issue still arises when not connected?

I've tried all of the above with no luck. I've formatted the Xbox, unpluged everything, removed the hard drive, disconnected it from the internet and still the same thing.

That's rough @Turbojib. It sounds to me like you 360 has overheated at some point & probably fried some part of the hardware. Very surprising it's still trying to work but it's more than likely FUBAR from your problem's description. There are ways to prevent overheating but they can not be discussed here. If you do decide to get another 360 just message me & we can talk about how to do that elsewhere. But put it this way, my 360 is an original 120GB Elite & still runs like a champ. I have run it for upwards of 16 hrs. straight with no overheating worries or problems.

Hi Turbo!  I'm sorry to hear about this, it sounds way frustrating. Hmm, let's try temporarily rolling back that update and see what happens: go into your system Settings, then Storage, then highlight the internal storage and press X, LB, RB, X, LB, RB, X.  See if it will boot up properly like that.  If it will, please try reinstalling the update.
