Xbox 360 Slim says I need a Network Adapter?

I was playing some Earth Defense Force: IA and I disconnected from Xbox Live, I went to check my router and modem, all fine. I went to my Network Settings and checked Wifi and it said I needed a Network Adapter, which confused me as my 360 has wifi built in. I tried to restore to factory settings and nothing.

Even though it has built in WiFi, and it tells you specifically you need a network adapter, you may want to invest in this: www.gamestop.com/.../76045

I would suggest calling 1-800-4-MY-XBOX as it sounds like your console, or more specifically, the built-in wireless, may need to be repaired. This would be done free of charge.

As bravejhawk says, sounds like your Xbox has developed a non user repairable fault, please contact Microsoft support for a repair or return to store if its still covered by the store warranty

Random, as shadowman stated above, if you wish to have internal wireless fixed you will need to send your xbox in for repair. Visit http://support.xbox.com to do so.

There is a work around by buying the wireless adopter for the xbox and using this...however I would rather have a fully working 360 if it was me!

I'm having the same problem. Obviously Microsoft won't be getting much business in the next console generation if this is how they're going to operate. Its really quite annoying how quickly their stuff fails.

@BlazedWithPower - we can certainly understand your frustration, but a quick repair and you should be back up and running. If your console was purchased new within the past year, it would be covered under warranty, as well. :) To set up a repair, visit: support.xbox.com/.../repair-process
