Xbox 360 Slim Console asking to connect a wireless adapter?

I am aware of the recent issues with Xbox live at this time, however I was curious as if my Xbox is either faulty or it's the network. I was able to connect online for just a quick second and then as I launched Assassin's Creed III, I got disconnected from Xbox live. I tried checking the internet connection but right when I clicked wireless, it asked me to connect a wireless adapter. Is this part of the network? I tried rebooting my Xbox and it didn't work, I even tried the system restore and it didn't work. I tried rebooting it one more time and it finally got through.

My only question is if it's a network or a faulty 360 Slim adapter.

Apparently now it seems to be working fine, connecting to Xbox Live and everything, I just found it odd that at one point it started requesting a wireless adapter to be connected.

Sorry to hear about your situation.

But as you point out, there is really nothing we can do to narrow down the problem until Xbox Live is reliably up and running.
