ok, i've seen it on many xbox's where at startup instead of the green strands flying around into the xbox ball, theres a big xbox ball spinning and than zooms out.
and another difference is the dashboard, the x in the bottom has the little circles moving outward like little ripples of water.
So the queston is, on my arcade xbox(i beleve thats the model) is there a way to get the one(theme, os, etc.) with this other startup and the ripples of circles under the x? I just prefer the way the one i dont have looks, over the one i have.

xbox 360 os or dash: is there a way to change it?

It sounds like what you're talking about is the old dashboard vs. the new one. If the Xbox has been on Live and updated after November 2010 then it'll have the green strands opening. If it hasn't been updated since then, then it'll have the older dashboard. There is no way to switch between the 2.
