Xbox 360 not connecting to WLAN, even though it finds it!

So for the past couple months, I haven't been able to play xbox live, which is pretty annoying now.

My Xbox 360 just cant connect to my router, even though it finds it from the list of wireless networks?! It just fails to connect.

Thats basically it. If you need more info, I'll go onto my xbox to check what else it says (if anything) but thats the main issue in its simplicity.

Please help! I've obviously tried many times all of the "restart this and that".

Question Info

Last updated July 4, 2018 Views 1 Applies to:

What Country/State/Province do you live in? Finland, Espoo

Network Connection Type: Wireless

If Wireless, what type of encryption are you using? This question I do not understand :( If this means, how is my WLAN encrypted, then the answer would be: by password

If Wireless, are you using a white or black external adapter, or an internal (Xbox 360S) adapter?

Things you have tried: All of the restart this or that and wait 90 seconds etc.

Is UPnP Enabled? Unknown

Is NAT Type Open? Usually Open, it changes though, rarely and randomly.

What type of internet do you have? Cable/DSL/T1/3G? Wireless, thats all I can say (that I know).

Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)? Elisa

Modem brand & model number:

Router brand & model number:

These 2 questions are quite similar, so I went to my wireless sender (I think its the combination of modem+router) and picked up information:

Product name: BeWAN iBox V1.0

Model number: BeWAN IAD ARV4510NPW-A-LF-L3

Company name: BeWAN Systems

Any Error Codes you encounter:

When you run "Test Xbox LIVE connection" what is the exact message shown on screen?

These two questions too, are quite similar. When I run "test xbox live connection" it just says sort of "there is a problem with your connection, press 'more info' for more info" or something like that. It seemed like it was the text that would be there no matter what your problem was, so I decided not to go check the exact words. I can though if you demand me to.

However, I pressed "Y" for status and it gave me the following:

Error Status Report

W: 0000-0000

X: 8000-0011

Y: 0000-0000

Z: 0000-0000

ID: 0000-0009

this is all info I came up atm. If you ask for something specific that is missing, ask ahead and I'll try to check it out.

Please help! Thanks!

Hi,

What about the answer to this one:- "If Wireless, are you using a white or black external adapter, or an internal (Xbox 360S) adapter?" and are you using WEP, WPA or WPA2 as your wireless security?

Hi, work your way through this:- www.unofficialguidetolive.co.uk/.../114-troubleshooting-and-improving-wireless

If you can't get connect after reading through some of the common issues on that link follow the advice to (temporarily) turn off wireless security (WPA and any wireless access/mac lists) and see if you can connect, if it works with no security you know it will connect and can work up from there
