XBOX 360 displays red flickering lines across screen using HDMI cable @ 1080p

After playing for a few minutes (game or DVD playback) red lines start to appear across the screen.

At first it is subtle, but after 15 minutes or more it will start to flicker the whole screen with a red contrast and intermittantly go blank. Sound drops out also.

I think it is the HDMI port on the XBOX that is causing the problem.

It may be that the HDMI components are getting hot but the XBOX is in a well ventilated area.

I do not have the same problem with using another game console in the same HDMI port of my flat screen TV.

Hey James1359,

Have you already tried another HDMI-port in the your TV?

If not, would you mind to do so?

Believe me or not, but another solution is to reverse the HDMI Cable. So plug the end that is plugged in in your console in your TV and plug the end that is plugged in your TV in your Console.

Either if that doesn't work, can you try to revert your resolution of your TV to 720P?

And if you are able to, can you borrow a HDMI Cble from a friend or family or neighbour? It does't have to be the console, it also may be one of the HDMI-Ports on the TV or the cable itself.

I'm looking forward to your results.

Met vriendelijke groet,

Rick N.,
