XBL Update 02/19/2013 -Error Code: 3F4A-0000-0080-0300-D000-0185

Hey,

Getting this error code when attempting to update my console with the latest update from XBL : 3F4A-0000-0080-0300-D000-0185

Tried all the basic troubleshooting settings, nothing seems to be working.. my console worked fine yesterday, connected to XBL with no issues, now it seems to connect, but cant download the update (It gets so far, and then gets the error code)

Everything else on my network is fine.

Rob

A storage device (such as a memory unit or hard drive) was not found during the software update. Follow these steps:

  1. Turn off your console.
  2. Remove all console storage devices, including any USB flash drives, external hard drives or the internal hard drive on the Xbox 360 S console. Learn how to remove the hard drive.
  3. Add your primary storage device, for example, the hard drive.
  4. Turn on the console
  5. Try updating the console again.

I solved this problem by clearing the cache from the disk drive.

Go to System -> Storage -> Press Y with the focus on Hard Drive -> Clear System Cache -> Reboot xbox

I had the same issue. Tried everything from all the other threads and nothing worked. Then I tried onyx62is' steps and it worked.

I still don't understand how this was an issue and how removing and then replacing my HDD when the console was off did anything, but it did, so I guess that's all that matters.

Thanks onyx62is.

Also...damn these forums are confusing now.

Hey there BluesBoy!  Can you make a new thread?  Include the error you're seeing (this one I'm guessing) and which steps you've tried.  (You can also try the steps here: Xbox 360 System Update Error Codes
