Apologies for the service interruption you're experiencing.
Currently Xbox LIVE Matchmaking, Messages, and some users with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, will be experiencing issues with Xbox LIVE at this time.
The issue is being worked on and should be resolved soon.
I understand this isn't the experience you want - and that you expect better from Xbox LIVE as a service that you pay for.
As this is only a Support Forum by the Community, we're unable to really do anything other than reiterate public information.
However, if you call Xbox Support or contact them via Live Chat, they can give you an address to the HQ for your country so that you can mail in a complaint.
