X1 making noises while off

So my X1 is making some noises, it´s the fan i think, but it´s off, there is nothing downloading. Won´t it break more quickly if the fans never turn off like this? And if this is not an issue, don´t you people in Microsoft know that we must save energy?

Mine makes a faint ticking noise. I think it's just he fan. If your worried about saving energy, turn on energy saving mode to turn your box completely off.

So you are saying that is normal for the console to aways have the fan on!? Even if it´s off, the normal is for the fans to continue working forever...Because the fan is cooling...what? Something that it´s not even heating?!?!Are you serious?!?!

My console does not make noises when it's off, but I noticed that it's hot. Not much, but I didn't expect, since there's no download in progress. Your console gets hot too when it's off ?

Mine make the feint tick also but have to put my ear right against the console to hear it.

I assumed it's just the hard drive.

Anyway if you want it to be silent after switching off you need to change the power settings to energy saving. Otherwise if you have instant-on mode the power brick fan will be running 24 hours a day which is normal.

I have the same thing happen to me. However, I found that if I go into the settings to enable "Power Saving", the Xbox One will no longer make any noise when its off. But by doing this, you sacrifice the ability to turn on your Xbox just by telling it to. My guess is that the "Instant On" feature has the Xbox running in the background all the time, leading to the ticking harddrive/fan.
