Wrong gold membership account

I recently purchased a 12-month xbox live gold membership for my xbox 360. Unfortunately I signed in on my computer using the wrong e-mail address, not the one associated with my normal xbox live account. Therefore I unknowingly created a new xbox live account and put my gold membership on there, meaning that I have lost all of the progress I made on my games. Is there any way to move my xbox live gold membership onto my old account?

You would need to contact support and have them cancel the gold and give you a token for the remaining time to add to the correct account. 1-800-4my-xbox if you're in the US/Canada or support.xbox.com/contact-us
