Wrong country in profile.

Sorry but wondering if anyone can help me with this, the country i want it set to is Ireland and it's currently set to UK, I've been looking for way to change the country on my profile but to no avail. It seems to be effecting my matchmaking in SSFIV:AE in that i never get connected to other Irish players, only UK players and i know there are Irish players online because my friends are playing and we can only join through invites. I know that's what invites are for but I'd like to be matched with the closest possible players and meet other Irish players that i don't know, also it's nice to have my own country's flag beside my name, representing my peeps and all that. Thanks in advance to anyone that helps :)

Go to the system settings on the dashboard then:

System settings -> Console settings-> language and locale -> Locale -> Ireland

Once an account is created the age nor region can be changed. The latter can be changed only if you live in one of the nine newly added regions to XBL, which you don't.

 

Your only recourse would be to create a new account with your correct/current XBL region selected.

 

Changing the settings on your console/pc will not change your account region.

So what you're telling me is that i either have to get a new account thereby losing all my games, even though it technically is possible to change regions on an account...well i know for a fact i put in the right country, don't want to sound snarky but i know where i live, i've lived here all my life. I see it's possible to change names for a fee, does that mean i keep my games and get a 'new account' where i could set the right region?

I have another question. Is this forum xbl/gfwl users or is this actually a support forum? Don't get me wrong i do appreciate you guys trying to help and enlighten me. I've looked for a customer support and all i found was a phone number for England and i'd rather not spend 20 minutes on an international phone call just to get a dropbox option changed.

That would only change your gamertag. Everything else on your account would remain the same.

 

These forums are largely user based. There are a few members of support who do post though.

well you call the support in your actual region

click uk

then select your actual region

then support

then contact us

and the answer will the be same

once set a region of an account which is setup when you create the games for windows account  not by your windows live id

a region of an account cannot be changed

UK is not a migration  region

when you set up your games for windows account thats when you set your region of the account not during the windows live id setup that is the only time a region can be changed

Well thanks Smwutches, i found a post in the forum you linked to with a few people having similar problems to myself, must be some kind of glitch in the system because there was a guy from australia, another from lithuania and a guy from chile with the same problem. I'm sure because it's effecting peoples gameplay they'll change it. Anyway thanks so much for the help guys, it's really appriciated. To anyone who finds this thread and has the same issue forums.xbox.com/.../34402.aspx is the link to the thread in technical support about this issue, please post there if you're having this problem.
