Wireless N USB extension cable question

I just got the Kinect and a new TV, problem is that now with the new setup my wireless adaptor (using short supplied USB extension cable) is too short to get a signal spot I need to now be about 10 feet away. Is it possible to use any standard USB 2.0 extension cable? or is there a special type I need to get when increasing distance beyond the supplied extension cable supplied with the kinect. Im on a budget and don't want to spend too much, most cables range for $15 - $50 for about 15 feet. Are there any special USB specifications I should be looking for beyond the version 2.0?

Thank You for your help!

Using the included exstension it shoud be possible to position the adapter in an area that can receive a signal. Please adjust the antenna position in addition to the physical location of the adapter.

Remember to keep the antenna at least 1 foot from any walls minimize interference to the signal.
