Wireless-N-Adaptor can't connect to 5 GHz Networks anymore after failed dashboard-update.

After a failure during the latest XBOX-dashboard-update, my XBOX 360 restarted. I had to reconnect my wireless-connection and download the system-update again. That went well. But since then, my Wireless-N adaptor is unable to find and connect to a 5GHz-N-connection. It used to work perfectly before. How can I get 5 GHz-connections running again? Thank you!

Hi,

Which adapter are you using? The external N adapter or internal one (the internal one does not support 5Ghz) there certainly were issues with that router for the Internet adapter www.unofficialguidetolive.co.uk/.../162-wireless-gaming-official-wireless-adapter-incompatibility-list so its quite like the issue is the router. Belkin routers aren't very good with Xbox live in my experience.

I must admit (Sorry if this is an old thread, I just found it on google.), I must admit that even though I am running a Belkin N750 DB Router, Ever since the latest major dashboard update, I too am unable to connect to my Routers 5Ghz Setting even though it would work perfectly fine before. The network won't even show up when I scan.

And no this is not a Router issue. It is the 360.

My router does run the 2.5 GHz band simultaneously and my XBOX 360 connects to it without problems. It is not, that I don't have a connection. I do. I just cannot connect to the 5 GHz band, which I could before.

You could try this.  it would connect you at both 2.5 and 5 GHz.  Works as an inbetween for your devices and your router:

Does your router have the option to run the 2.5 GHz band?

Well there's nothing you can change on the Xbox I'm afraid. I agree its certainly a sticky one because it worked before, but that Xbox will almost certainly work at 5Ghz with another router.  I think your at an impass mate you can't roll back the system update :|

Yes. Firmware is up-to-date and wasn't changed in before or after the XBOX 360 system update. It is not the router. It is the XBOX 360.

What about firmware have you checked on their website (not via the router) for an update?

Yes. It is. And everything worked perfectly before. Nothing changed. So I don't get it, why it won't anymore.
