Wireless headset problems.

My wireless headset cannot connect to my controller. It keeps on connecting to the second quadrant of the XBOX. I've tried turning on my first controller, and then the wireless mic, but it simply connects into the second quadrant. Cycling the quadrants causes it to skip the first quadrant. I've heard of this thing about wired headsets *** up your controller to think that there is still a mic plugged in. Is this true? What can I do?

I found the keyboard messes with it more than the wired mic. You can try plugging the wired mic in and wiggling it around then pulling it out. The issue is the way it checks for a plugged in mic. If it gets dirty it can keep the signal while unplugged. Just jiggling a plug around in the jack should clear this up.
