Wireless Error

I have a serious problem with my wireless settings /adapter/ router!

When I test my xbox live connection because my Xbox can not connect, my xbox gives me an error that it cant connect to xbox live. I restart the test with the same settings and the error is that my xbox cant connect to the internet.

This is odd because my xbox can connect through a lan cable perfectly.

Can anyone help?!?!?!?!?!

Has your wireless connection worked ok before, you could try resetting the network settings on the console to the defaults as described HERE

If you are using a wireless adapter is the light on it green or red ?

I have tried everyrthing and decided it is a router problem. I have a belkin F5D8635-4v1. I think the router just does not like the xbox because I used a ethernet to wifi adapter and the router still wouldnt connect propperly.

I think the answer is to buy a new router :(

Any other ideas?

Perhaps a router firmware update might help if you haven't already done this.

I'm not sure if THIS may be of some help to you.

Hi,

Ensure you have the latest firmware, are you using the Xbox360S internal adapter or external adapter (if external which one the white single antenna or black twin antenna)

Try setting up your wireless security as WPA2-PSK(AES) if possible

There are known issues with that router and I find it is best setup like this:- www.unofficialguidetolive.co.uk/.../62-my-nat-is-strict-or-moderate

Well I have the latest XBOX and router firmware and I have a datel wireless adapter for xbox and a wireless to ethernet adapter for xbox. Both work because I have tested them on my laptop. Also my router is not on the not supported list.

I think the problem is that my router does not work with my xbox. I have run my xbox through my laptop to wireless and it works fine. The only difference between the setup i used for my laptop to wireless and my wireless ethernet adapter is that the adapter takes on the name of the device it is connected to.

I know this sounds stupid but my xbox does not come up as a device on my router (ie it has no name) this could mean something.

Also my router firewall has been detecting port scanner attacks at the same time as I am testing XBOX live on my xbox when I had it connected to my wireless adapter or wireless ethernet adapter but not my laptop.

Arrr so you have a Datel, is that firmware up to date also?

Your router obviously works with your Xbox as it works wired fine, it sounds more like a problem between the Datel and your router.
