Are the batteries you're using Alkaline by chance? Do you have another controller you can try using just as a test?

Why do Alkaline batterys make a difference?

I, as I am sure others are, am getting very fed up with this.

My original controller started disconnecting when shooting a few months ago. I bought two new ones. One of these is now doing the same thing.

I have tried the sticky tape fix and the piece of card board fix and the new battery fix and the only thing that works is turning off vibration. Not happy.

When can we get controllers that work properly and can I exchange my non working vibrating controllers for others that will work?

Some bargain style batteries last only a few minutes when used in Xbox controllers. KBL007, how long have you owned the controller? Are you using the battery pack included, or another battery pack?

You know how the batteries are slotted into a housing which then clips to the back of the controller? Sometimes that housing can come loose and, when it's knocked, will briefly break contact with the controller, turning it off. Try turning on your controller and moving the battery housing around to see if it's loose.

I have tested both controllers that are doing this. They both only disconnect when shooting and not when trying to move the battery case.

Hey there KBL - have you tested these controllers on another system? Do they exhibit the same behavior? If you recently purchased the controller in question, I would recommend an exchange with your retailer for quickest service. Otherwise, our accessory warranty is 90 days. We would be happy to exchange a controller still in warranty if it is causing you an issue. You can set up an exchange via our Phone Support team. For their number, please visit: support.xbox.com/contact-us

Ok, I bought a pack of new Duracell batteries. I tried in all of my three controllers. Out of the three, only the newest one worked. I used the battery pack from the newest one in the other two and they worked.

This shows that it is the pack that holds the batteries that is the problem. However, after blowing in side the non working battery holders, they worked. ???

We'll see how long that lasts. ;)
