wireless connection for my son's xbox 360

How do I set up my son's xbox360 wireless? I am not very computer savvy. I am asking if I can add the xbox as a device through my laptop and have it running wireless? Thank you so much for any helpful feedback.

The xbox will find your router / modem automatically, all you will need to do is input the access code that your wireless uses (same one you put in your laptop to connect to the internet, usually a series of letters and/or numbers case sensitive).

In can be done but very difficult and not worth it, you need to set up ICS (internet conection sharing and connect to the xbox passing through a switch hub or use a crossover cable and time and luck. trust me get a wireless adapter

What kind of Xbox is it? The new Xbox's (aka stump/slim) have a wireless device built into them, you can go into the Xbox's settings and configure it. The older Xbox 360s don't have a wireless device built into them. If it is an older Xbox you would be better off buying an official wireless connector, rather then routing through your laptop.

Hi ANNESCHOOLER! I'm moving this to our connection forum so it gets the attention it needs, but it looks like the community is off to a great start, with some great things to try. Let us know if you still need assistance after trying their steps. :)

Hi,

Its certainly not difficult to do and doesn't required a crossover cable. Assuming you are using an older Xbox (not the Xbox360S aka slim) then please look at one or both of these guides for help on this set-up:-

support.xbox.com/.../win-computer (Microsoft Official Guide)

www.unofficialguidetolive.co.uk/.../ics-bridging-guide (Unofficial Guide if you are still struggling)

Thanks
