Windows Live ID

I'm trying to change the Live ID associated with my xbox account. But it keeps popping up with 'You can only change your account once every 30 days, and not within the first 30 of creating your account' I've had the same email address linked to my gamertag since I made it, now i want to change it to an email address I made on 11th of April?
Help?!

If your email address is a Hotmail, Live, or MSN you will get that message every attempt. It cannot be changed, those are tied to the gamertag permanently.

Hey Captain Beccer!

Sorry to hear about your experience with Phone Support. Did they give you a reason for why they wouldn't change the Live ID on your account?

Hi Captain Beccer,

Have you made an attempt to change it not only on your console, but by using xbox.com? I recently changed mine from my computer because the one I had linked to my account, wasn't an actual email address that I had access to.

If you haven't tried doing it directly on your computer here are the steps...

First, you need to log in to windows live and locate this page https://account.live.com

Once you're there, you should see your current windows live ID located under "account information"

Click on "change" on the right hand side of your windows live ID

It should then prompt you to enter a new windows live ID of your choice

I believe after you've done this, it tells you that it could take up to 48 hours to take affect. This worked for me, I hope it helps!
