why is my account locked

im just trying to add a 3 month code but i keep getting the status code:80169D3A i looked up to see what this code meant i did neither of the things i just wanna play with my friends.

To resolve this problem, you must contact Xbox Support to determine why your account was locked.  Suggest you go to http://account.live.com and sign in there, and then choose Edit Contact Information. Since Xbox LIVE accounts are built on top of Microsoft Account security, their security 'proofs' requirement applies to gamers like you and me. Proofs can include:

1) A phone # (preferably a cell # to text you a message - very convenient when away from home)

2) An alternate email address (which can be used to send a password reset confirmation to)

3) A 'Trusted PC' (requires Windows Vista or later + the free Microsoft Windows Live Essentials app)

4) A Security Question and Secret Answer

I'd make sure you had at least #1, #2 and #4 filled in, which can solve the problem.  If it doesn't, then talk with an Xbox LIVE agent for more help.
