Why don't I get my password reset sent to my email when requested?

I'm trying to recover an old profile that was lost after the Microsoft Live beta for the xbox360 went live. I beta tested, and got locked out of my account once it went live. I've been trying to recover that account ever since. Every time I ask for a password reset, the automated service sends out an email that I never receive. I need help with this.

Feyd03 I can't really say but it sounds like your account may be blocked. Also check your spam and junkmail folders, especially if you are using a gmail account.

If you don't have any luck check out windows.microsoft.com/.../account-temporarily-blocked

* Make sure you are using internet explorer when you try to send yourself a password reset link, dont use a tablet / google chrome etc etc.

Edit: select get more help under other reasons your account might be blocked in the link above. If there is a block on the account that should work, if it doesn't as I say just let me know.

I don't have Internet explorer. Strangely enough, it isn't compatible with my version of Windows. I have Windows 8.1 64bit.

Well, hey thanks for the response anyway. My wife dug out the old xbox 360, figured I'd give it one last ditch effort to recover my old account KnightrazorX. Not going to happen. Sad too, It makes me real leery about purchasing an XBox One because of the amount of money I invested into that old account that is probably lost forever.

I'm not a person who is in the habit of repeating mistakes. I also don't give up easily.  So, I may try one more time later down the road to recover this account. If I can't, I just might go invest in a different console. Microsoft can't say I didn't try with the up most patience. It's been 381 days since my last log in with that account. I have it timestamped through this account which was an alternate on the very same xbox360.

I'm sorry to hear about the account issues. If you'd like to try recovery again, I suggest using the Contact Us page to set up a support call with an account specialist. If the are unable to assist, ask to be escalated to the Advocacy Team. They specialize in this type of thing and should be able to assist going forward.
